INTRODUCTION

Boekhandel Van Noord is a charming bookstore nestled in the vibrant yet often overlooked neighborhood of Amsterdam-Noord.
To highlight the area's transformation and growing appeal, we created a unique calendar that tells the story of its evolution. Each month pairs a historical photograph with a modern day image, offering a powerful visual journey through time and celebrating the positive changes that have shaped Amsterdam-Noord into what it is today.

The calendar uses a clean design with serif and sans serif type, black text on white, and plenty of space so the focus stays on the then-and-now photographs while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
The original photos come from the Amsterdam City Archives, while the new images were shot in the same locations and edited to reflect the scenes as realistically as possible.
